Our Experts

I don’t believe that there is a “one size fits all”  process to healing.  I feel that it is also important to work with people with whom you share the same values. I am forever grateful to the talented physicians who saved my life. I was in the hospital for a month and under 24-hour watch when I was released because of the extent of my injuries. When my doctors told me they had done all they could and that we needed to let time take it’s course, I looked to a number of other options to complete my recovery.

When I first went in search of a counselor, I met with a person whose style of care was not right for me. I didn’t feel like I was making strides in the right direction. I then found a new counselor through suggestions from friends. The fact that we shared similar spiritual beliefs helped me to feel comfortable working with him. The counselor I connected with also works closely with the Prairie Village Police Department. This experience gave him another level of understanding for my situation. My counselor, Dan Claiborne, worked with me to understand how people think and how someone could be capable of committing such an act against another person unprovoked.

I turned to my chiropractor, Mark Wallace, for help with numbness and imbalance. He is big on nutrition and health and this is something that I too feel strongly about. This allowed us to work well together.

David DiBella, my kickboxing instructor, helped me to regain my strength and improve my balance with personal training sessions until I was ready to get back to class.

I also began looking into integrative therapies and was introduced to acupuncture, rolfing, reiki, shamanic breathing, EFT (also known as tapping), and more.

If you or someone you know has gone through a traumatic experience, it’s important to seek help. Our experts section is small, but always growing. I have had the opportunity to work personally with several of the experts you see listed here. Some of our experts are located in the Kansas City metro area. Others are farther away. When looking for someone in your location, seeking personal recommendations is always a great place to start. Do your homework and trust your instincts.

The following are experts I have personally used or they have been recommended by one of my family members or team. We know we can’t cover every type of healing modality, but hopefully this will give you a place to start.
